Point Dume is one of my favorite locations in Los Angeles for maternity photography, especially for couples looking for a natural and cinematic beach setting.

I usually like to start sessions with simple walking prompts to help couples relax and ease into the session naturally. It’s one of the easiest ways to create candid movement and genuine moments, especially during maternity sessions.

One of my favorite parts of maternity sessions is capturing the quiet in-between moments, the gentle touch, the wind in her dress, and the way couples naturally slow down and lean into each other.

Throughout the session, I gently guided them into natural movement and interaction, leaving plenty of room for candid moments in between. One of my favorite little moments was when they suddenly noticed a sea lion swimming nearby and both stopped to watch the waves together.

One of my favorite things about shooting at Point Dume is how naturally the landscape adds variety to the session. From the rocky cliffs to the soft ocean tones, every little corner felt cinematic in its own way.
Sometimes even the birds seem to cooperate at just the right moment, adding little unexpected details that make the session feel even more special.

Some of my favorite images are the imperfect, blurry in-between moments, the ones that feel more like memories than poses.
There’s something so special about documenting this quiet season before life changes in the most beautiful way.
